What Makes Our Approach Special?
Classical hypnosis and meditation have the drawback that the depth and quality of the state are difficult to capture objectively. At the I-NFBF, brainwaves and biosignals are monitored continuously during the session, so therapist and patient can see in real time what level of relaxation has been reached.
Target Brainwave Patterns
| Frequency Band | Meaning | Goal |
|---|---|---|
| Beta (13-30 Hz) | Active thinking, wakefulness | Reduction of over-arousal and mental noise |
| Alpha (8-13 Hz) | Relaxed wakefulness | Promotion of calm and creative clarity |
| Theta (4-8 Hz) | Deep relaxation, access to the unconscious | Emotional processing and deep relaxation |
| Delta (0.5-4 Hz) | Deep sleep, regeneration | Restorative sleep and physical regeneration |

Session Procedure
Sensors are placed, you lie down or sit comfortably, close your eyes, and follow the therapist's voice as well as biofeedback-guided music into a state of deep relaxation. Brainwaves and body signals are monitored continuously; after about 45-60 minutes, you emerge refreshed and present.
Below is an overview of the brainwave activity that can be measured, trained, and improved primarily during hypnosis, meditation, and deep-relaxation sessions:
