Metabolism Check

Metabolic Measurement (indirect Calorimetry, Respirometry)

An effective and healthy metabolism depends to a large extent on the supply and utilization of oxygen - a process in which carbon dioxide is excreted as the end product of the metabolism. The so-called respiratory quotient, which is an indicator of the effectiveness of oxygen utilization and thus the metabolic efficiency is determined from the the ratio between the oxygen consumed and the exhaled carbon dioxide. With this simple procedure, the so-called spirometry, not only can the efficiency of the metabolism, but also that aggravating the organism acid load, which can lead to disturbances in the complex system of cellular regulation.

There are many theories, but there is only one way out! Patients have to get an effective metabolism, especially in the resting phases. This means that they have to get most of their daily energy mainly from healthy fats (including body fat) and less from sugar. Would you have thought that your metabolism burns more fats at rest than you can burn with exercise on average?

With the spirometric metabolism measurement at the Institute of Neurofeedback and Biofeedback (I-NFBF) we make a metabolic test tailored to the resting metabolism of a patient including a full analysis within 15 minutes.

On top, the energy metabolism of a patient can be measured precisely and reliably. Thus, the Mind&Body Performance Center of the Institute for Neurofeedback and Biofeedback (I-NFBF) offers a test to determine the "fuel profile" (sugar and fat burning) of the patient's body. This test shows how much valuable oxygen from the inhaled air is actually used by the patient's body cells. The oxygen consumption rate reflects the body's efficiency in own energy production. The results are evaluated in a detailed written results report. This method is scientifically recognized and is called indirect calorimetry.
