Neurofeedback target groups

Who is Neurofeedback suitable for?

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, drug-free brain training method based on the principles of neuroplasticity. It is suitable for virtually all age groups - from young children to seniors, from elite athletes to executives. No prior knowledge is required; every training programme is individually tailored to each person's needs, EEG profile, and personal goals.

👶 Children from 4 years of age

Children benefit particularly early from neurofeedback, as the young brain possesses high neural plasticity and is therefore exceptionally receptive to learning. Typical areas of application in children include attention and concentration disorders (ADD/ADHD), learning difficulties, autism spectrum disorders, as well as sleep and behavioural problems. Since 2012, the American Academy of Pediatrics has rated neurofeedback as equally effective as psychostimulants (e.g. Ritalin) in the treatment of ADHD.

🎒 Pupils, Teenagers & Students

For pupils and university students, neurofeedback offers valuable support for concentration difficulties, exam anxiety, academic stress, and learning challenges. The training enhances cognitive flexibility, improves working memory, and strengthens emotional regulation. Particularly during periods of heightened demands - such as school-leaving exams or university assessments - neurofeedback can help to specifically optimise mental performance.

👩‍💼 Adults

Adults most commonly seek neurofeedback for stress symptoms, burnout, anxiety disorders, sleep disturbances, depression, or chronic pain. The training can help correct dysregulated brainwave patterns, build stress resilience, and sustainably improve overall well-being. Neurofeedback is also used in the rehabilitation of neurological events such as traumatic brain injury (TBI) or stroke.

👴 Seniors

In later life, neurofeedback training can help to maintain or improve cognitive functions such as memory, attention, and executive functioning over the longer term. Neurofeedback can positively influence the progression of neurodegenerative processes and supports cognitive fitness as a preventive measure against dementia. It is a gentle, drug-free option that integrates well into a holistic health concept for older adults.

🏆 Elite Athletes & High Performers

Neurofeedback is an established mental training tool for elite athletes and high performers across a wide range of disciplines. It demonstrably improves concentration, reaction time, motor coordination, and the ability to maintain an optimal mental state under pressure. Studies have shown that athletes can improve their reaction times by up to 30% following targeted neurofeedback training. Stress management before competitions and mental recovery afterwards are also supported by the training.

🎭 Artists: Actors, Singers & Musicians

For artists, neurofeedback is a tool for optimising creative and performative abilities. It helps reduce stage fright and performance anxiety, deepen emotional expressiveness, and deliberately induce the so-called "flow state" - that feeling of effortless peak performance. The brain learns to release unwanted tension and distraction patterns, allowing creative processes to unfold more freely.

🏢 Business & Political Leaders

Leaders face constant mental pressure: complex decisions, responsibility, travel fatigue, and sleep deprivation place lasting strain on the brain. Neurofeedback helps maintain cognitive performance, improve stress processing, and counteract burnout symptoms. As a non-invasive peak performance training, it is a valuable addition for all those who need to function at the highest mental level.

Clinical Indications at a Glance

The following conditions and states respond particularly well to neurofeedback:

Area Indications
Attention & Behaviour ADD, ADHD, impulsivity, hyperactivity, behavioural difficulties
Emotional Health Anxiety disorders, depression, mood swings, emotional dysregulation
Trauma & Stress PTSD, burnout, chronic stress, addictive disorders
Sleep Difficulty falling or staying asleep, insomnia
Pain & Neurology Migraine, headaches, chronic pain, epilepsy, TBI
Development & Learning Autism spectrum, learning disabilities, developmental delays
Cognitive Health Memory difficulties, cognitive ageing, dementia prevention
Peak Performance Athletic excellence, creative development, leadership capacity

Neurofeedback is not a therapeutic intervention - it is an active form of brain training. Nothing is introduced into the body; the client trains their own brain independently and purposefully using real-time EEG feedback. Each session is designed individually on the basis of an EEG profile and is guided by a trained specialist.
